If you want to stay in the park with your horse you can stay at the Equestrian Campground. Located away from the main camping areas, if you choose to stay at these sites you must be in an RV or trailer as no tents are allowed. Each site provides water and electric hookups, and you are allowed one vehicle per site. While sewer is not available, a dump station is located nearby.

You can relax and enjoy a sense of community by hanging out at the shared campfire area at the equestrian campground where you could make new friends and meet new horses. Pit toilets are nearby, and showers are available at the main campground. Stalls are available for horses. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance, and some sites are also ADA-accessible.

Fairy Stone State Park Campground

The Fairy Stone State Park Campground is the only area within the park suitable for RV lovers to call home during their visit. The campground offers 51 sites suited for RVs, 25 of which are equipped with electrical and water hookups. The sites are on the smaller size with the maximum RV length being 35 feet, so keep this in mind in relation to the size of your rig.

You can relax under the shade at your campsite since each site is paved and shaded by the beautiful forest all around you. All sites are located near water collection points and feature a picnic table and a fire pit. While there are no sewer hookups, a dump station is located nearby. You are welcome to bring your dog with you, just make sure they on a leash and cleaned up after. Restrooms and showers are also centrally located.

Reservations for the Fairy Stone State Park Campground can be made up to 11 months in advance, and since it is a popular place to stay it is a good choice to make your reservation well in advance. The campground is available from the beginning of March until the first Friday in December.

First-Come-First-Served Camping
First-Come, First-Served Camping

Half of the RV and tent sites at Fairy Stone State Park are not available to be reserved in advance, so if you are looking for camping on a first-come, first-served basis then you are in luck! It may be hard to get a powered site without a reservation, but all of the non-powered sites will be available without the need for a prior reservation. First-come, first-served camping is available throughout the regular camping season.

Alternate Camping
Group Camping

Interested in doing some group camping while visiting Fairy Stone State Park? There is a dedicated group camping area located southwest of the cabins near where the yurts are. All six of the group camping sites are primitive with no hookups available, and in order to reserve a group site, you must have a minimum visiting party of three tents. Each site is equipped with a tent pad measuring 16 feet by 16 feet and also feature a lantern post, grill, and picnic table.

The reservation system for the group area is a little different than most parks, so if you want to stay here you will need to reserve at least three of the designated sites that are listed online.

Cabins

One of the many highlights for visitors to Fairy Stone State Park is the number of accommodation options that are available during most of the year. The most popular alternate accommodation option in the park is to stay at one of the 25 cabins that are located near the shoreline of Fairy Stone Lake.

The cabins come in multiple site types, including one and two bedrooms that are within either a log or cinder block cabin. Some have water views and they all come equipped with a decent kitchen, furniture, a fireplace, and a bathroom with shower. Outside of each cabin, there is a picnic table and fire grill.

Depending on what time of the year you visit, the cabins will need a minimum night stay. This starts at two nights, but between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the minimum stay is seven nights. The later you book the smaller the minimum stay gets, so be sure to check the park website to see how long your stay has to be.

Yurts

Another great alternate camping option available during your visit to Fairy Stone State Park are four yurts. All four yurts are located within the same general area across from the group camping area and feature a picnic table, fire ring, cooking grate, and a wooden deck outside of the yurt area. Inside you will find room to sleep up to four people with a queen bed and a pull-out twin trundle.

You will have to bring your own linen if you choose to stay in one of the yurts, and no pets or cooking is allowed. Yurt three and four are the only two with designated parking spaces, so if you stay in the other two you will have to take a short uphill walk from the group or shelter parking areas. Reservations are a must, and they are open for you to use from the first Friday in the month of March up until the first Sunday in December.

Lodges

If you are visiting Fairy Stone State Park with a larger group and aren't interested in primitive camping, you should consider staying at the Lodge or Bunkhouse Lodge. These are the biggest accommodation option that doesn't involve tents, so they are a popular choice for family gatherings or trips away with friends.

The Bunkhouse Lodge can sleep up to 14 people at a time and has three different rooms. All of the beds are bunk style with relatively skinny mattresses, and you will have to bring your own linens since none are provided by the park. There are electrical outlets, heating, and air-conditioning at the lodge so you can expect a comfortable stay. The lodge doesn't have a kitchen or bathroom facilities, but you are welcome to use the nearby group campground for all your amenities.

The other Lodge in the park features a full kitchen, bathroom, and five bedrooms that can accommodate up to 16 people at a time. There is a two-night minimum stay, and it is available from the first Friday in March until the first one in December each year.
