Golden Memorial State Park

Golden Memorial State Park may not be big, but it has a lot of history for you to discover here. It showcases some pretty cool artifacts, as well as some natural wonders. A few of these that are notably worth mentioning include an old schoolhouse that only consisted of a single room and the second largest loblolly pine tree in all of Mississippi. Many visitors also come to enjoy the small lake located here. It gets its water from the spring and is only about 15 acres, but it’s a great place to sit back and relax for the day. There’s a lot to see and do here, so you’ll need a few days to take it all in. And what better way to do that than to stay a few nights in your RV? Here at Golden Memorial State Park, you can choose from eight campsites to park your big rig and have access to electricity, water, restrooms, and a dump station. The park is open all year long, but with there only being eight available campsites, you’ll want to make reservations in advance.

Transportation

Driving

Golden Memorial State Park is easy to find and access, whether you’re driving a little car or a big rig. The park stays open all year round, so you shouldn’t run into any road blocks or closures once inside. There are no tight turns, steep hills, or anything else of the sort that you should watch out for. However, due to the park’s small size, you might want to consider leaving your campervan parked at its designated campsite once you get there. If your RV is larger than 40 feet in length though, you might have a hard time getting it to fit, as this is the size limit for the campsites. You can get to just about anywhere you need to be by walking or biking around the park. And by choosing to do so, you’ll be helping reduce your carbon footprint and doing a favor for the environment.
